2016 SVDP Golf Tournament Rules Sheet
Modified Scramble (“Shamble”) Format
Men golfers will use the regular (White) tees and women golfers will use the forward (Red) tees.
After each player tees off, the team selects the best tee shot and all players hit from the location of the selected ball (place tee to mark the spot). From that point, each player plays their own ball into the hole. The best of these individual scores is then recorded as the group’s score for that hole.
For threesomes, one player from the group plays two balls for each hole. The additional play is alternated to the next player at the completion of each hole (i.e. every 3rd hole, each player plays two balls for the hole).
You must use at least 2 tee shots from each individual in the group. For those playing in a threesome, you must take at least 3 tee shots from each individual in your group.
Mulligans – Individuals who purchased mulligans can replay a shot on any stroke they choose, and no additional strokes will be added to their score. Maximum to be purchased/used = 4.
Licorice aka String – Each player has the opportunity to buy a piece of licorice. Your team can use the licorice on the green by ripping off the distance of candy their ball rests from the hole and not have to take a stroke. Once all the licorice is used, you’ll have to putt everything out. Use it wisely!
Closest to the pin Men. The golfer closest to the hole after their tee shot wins a prize.
Longest Drive Women. Women will participate for a single prize for longest drive. The drive must be in fairway.
Speed Hole. The goal on this hole is to get the ball from tee into the hole in the shortest amount of time possible, by using your golf clubs. Your time will dictate your team’s score on this hole.
· 0 – 39 seconds = you record an EAGLE… 2.
· 39.1 – 55 seconds = you record a BIRDIE… 3.
