2014 SVDP Golf Tournament Rules Sheet
Modified Scramble (“Shamble”) Format
Men golfers will use the regular (Blue) tees and women golfers will use the forward (Red) tees.
After each player tees off, the team selects the best tee shot and all players hit from the location of the selected ball (place tee to mark the spot). From that point, each player plays their own ball into the hole. The best of these individual scores is then recorded as the group’s score for that hole.
For threesomes, one player from the group plays two balls for each hole. The additional play is alternated to the next player at the completion of each hole (i.e. every 3rd hole, each player plays two balls for the hole).
You must use at least 2 tee shots from each individual in the group. For those playing in a threesome, you must take at least 3 tee shots from each individual in your group.
Mulligans – Individuals who purchased mulligans can replay a shot on any stroke they choose, and no additional strokes will be added to their score. Maximum to be purchased/used = 4.
String – Foursomes where every golfer purchased 4 mulligans receive a 4 foot length of string. Your team can use the string on the green by ripping off the distance of string their ball rests from the hole and not have to take a stroke! Once all the string is used, you’ll have to putt everything out. Use it wisely!!
Green-side Bunkers – Foursomes where every golfer purchased 4 mulligans get to execute this rule. Any golfer whose ball comes to rest inside a green-side bunker may elect to throw the ball out of the sand opposite handed. Simply stand where your ball was and toss it towards the hole. Each golfer receives 1 of these where it DOES NOT count as a stroke. After that, it will count as 1-stroke.
